Located near the White Mountain National Forest, North Conway, New Hampshire is the commercial center of the Mount Washington
Valley recreation area. The community thrives on the year-round influx of visitors that come for not only sightseeing and outdoor
sports, but also for dining, shopping and nightlife. Below are a few highlights of the North Conway area:
Skiing: Known as the "birthplace of American skiing", North Conway ski areas
such as Cranmore, Bretton Woods, Attitash,
Black Mountain and Wildcat provide downhill skiing within about a 25-mile radius around North Conway. First-time skiers can
enjoy skiing on the beginner slopes, while more advanced skiers can navigate the traditional trails. In addition, the landscape
is home to some of the finest cross-country terrain.

Storyland: Opening for its 55th season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day), Storyland is situated on 35 acres of hilly terrain
in the White Mountains. A family park with familiar fairy tale themes, Storyland includes rides and attractions that are built into
the geological features of the landscape with plenty of green space, trees and scenic views. Twenty-one rides are designed for
parents and children to enjoy together - from a Pumpkin Coach and Flying Fish to Eggs-traordinary Farm Tractors, the park creates
lasting memories for young children. Shows such as the all-new Royal Hanneford Circus and Farm Follies provide unique amusement for
the entire family. Over the years the park has grown, while maintaining its focus of entertaining families with children ages two
to twelve.

Kahuna Laguna: Not far from Storyland is the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort. This hotel is home to Kahuna Laguna, North Conway's
only indoor waterpark resort. With approximately 40,000 feet of enclosed fun, Kahuna Laguna features a slide tower with two body
slides and two tube slides, a wave pool, an adventure tower (with water cannons, slides, and a rope bridge), as well as a play area
for younger visitors (only 9" deep!).
Shopping: Not far from the great outdoors, North Conway is a bustling little town with a diverse shopping experience. With no sales
tax on purchases, New Hampshire in itself is a popular shopping destination. Bargain hunters enjoy Main Street where outlets abound
such as Ralph Lauren, L.L. Bean, Old Navy and Nike. Additionally there are a number of handmade craft stores and antique shops that
line the streets.
Restaurants: The region is home to nearly 100 restaurants and cafes serving a variety of food, ranging from Asian delicacies to
Italian cuisine. Restaurants to note are Coyote Rose, offering distinctive options prepared with a Southwestern flair, and
Horsefeather's, considered a local institution known for serving up comfort foods and traditional American dishes. For a family
atmosphere, Moat Mountain Smokehouse & Brewing Co. is an option the pub, inn, and restaurant is located within an 1840's historic
building and brews their own ales and lagers on-site.
Along with the many activities to choose from, there is a wide array of lodging choices which include hotels, motels, vacation
resorts, campgrounds and elegant bed and breakfasts. While in the area visitors can take part in an outdoor adventure, shop at
the outlet malls, local hand-craft or antique shops, and take the time to enjoy local cuisine all while relaxing in the scenic
views of the White Mountain National Forest.
